Remotely Operated: Managing Scattered Teams

Companies are increasingly recognizing the viability of remote teams, and many managers are finding them tasked with effectively supporting scattered teams. If a company has long embraced the remote model, then this support is done within the context of existing organizational structures and norms. However, if the company adopted the remote model under duress, then managers have to learn how to operate in new ways while learning new competencies. This talk will provide guidance for how managers can support remote teams and help them improve performance.

Remote Teams Panel

In the individual sessions, we looked at working remotely from the personal through to the company as a whole. In this panel, we'll hear ways that teams are linking these concepts together to make the experience of working together-but-apart work. It won't be a re-telling of the same presentations though: we'll dive, instead, into some of the personal experiences our panelists have had including the good, the not so good, and the downright disasters. Bring your questions, and if the prechat was any indication of how this panel will be, perhaps some popcorn as well!
